Decks and balconies face a combination few other surfaces do: full sun and UV exposure, direct rain, and — on occupied buildings — a slab that doubles as somebody's ceiling. A coating here has to stay flexible enough to bridge the small structural movement a deck goes through without cracking, because a crack in a deck coating is a direct path for water into the suite below.
The membrane goes over prepared concrete or plywood as a flexible, UV-stable system, with the transitions taking the most attention — railing posts, drains, and door thresholds are where water concentrates and where an under-detailed coating gives way first. Field area rarely fails on a balcony; the perimeter does.
Done properly the surface stays slip-resistant underfoot and holds its finish under continued sun exposure, while water keeps moving off the deck and away from the structure instead of pooling on it or tracking underneath the membrane.
Other Services
